Custom Water Treatment Solutions

Engineered for California's Central Valley. We design, install, and service custom water conditioning and purification equipment for homes, businesses, and industrial facilities.

Whole-House Water Softening & Iron Filtration

Central Valley groundwater is notoriously high in calcium, magnesium, and dissolved iron. This hard water builds up in water heaters, clogs pipes, stains fixtures, and leaves a chalky residue on shower glass and dishes.

Our residential water softeners use premium food-grade ion exchange resin to substitute scale-forming minerals with soft, conditioned water. We size and program our systems specifically for your home's water hardness profile, ensuring maximum salt efficiency and minimal waste water.

Advanced Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water

Standard municipal water and private wells in regions like Bakersfield, Visalia, and Fresno can carry elevated nitrates from agricultural runoff, traces of heavy metals, chlorine, and dissolved salts. Pitcher filters can't capture these microscopic contaminants.

Our multi-stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems push water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane. This membrane rejects up to 99% of dissolved impurities (including lead, arsenic, nitrates, fluoride, and pesticides), leaving you with pure, mineral-balanced, bottled-quality drinking water straight from a custom glassmorphic faucet.

High-Capacity Commercial Water Systems

For restaurants, hotels, industrial facilities, and municipal properties, water quality directly impacts operational costs, equipment life, and product flavor profiles. Boiler systems scale up, dishwasher glass spots, and commercial espresso lines degrade rapidly without target conditioning.

Cal Water Systems installs custom commercial water softening and large-scale skid reverse osmosis systems. From initial engineering analysis and local permitting through installation and startup commissioning, we ensure your facility complies with all sanitary regulations and runs at maximum efficiency.

The Science of Water Filtration

A closer look at the advanced filtration media and membranes we use to trap impurities and refine water chemistry.

Multi-Media Water Filtration Tanks

Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)

Uses catalytic adsorptive pores to pull chemical compounds, pesticides, herbicides, chlorine, and organic molecules out of your water supply. Crucial for targeting taste issues and neutralizing agricultural runoff contaminants.

Ion Exchange Resin & Membranes

Our premium high-capacity resins trap calcium and magnesium ions on contact, exchanging them for tiny amounts of sodium. Our tight micro-filtration membranes screen out heavy metals and dissolved solids below 0.0001 microns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to standard questions about hard water, custom configurations, and installation timelines.

Why do I need a custom system instead of an off-the-shelf filter?

Off-the-shelf systems assume a generic water chemistry level. Central Valley water varies wildly—cities have high hardness and chlorine, while local rural wells can have nitrates, sulfur, or heavy iron. Our certified water specialists test your water first, then size and configure the tank, resin, and filtration media specifically for your property's demands, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability.

What areas of the Central Valley do you serve?

We are based in Fresno and provide complete installation and maintenance services throughout the Central Valley, including Bakersfield, Visalia, Modesto, Stockton, and surrounding rural communities.

How often do filters and RO membranes need to be replaced?

Pre-filters and carbon post-filters are typically changed every 6 to 12 months. The core Reverse Osmosis membrane lasts between 2 to 5 years, depending on your water consumption and source quality. Our ongoing maintenance contracts handle these replacements automatically.

Will a water softener make my drinking water taste salty?

No. Ion exchange softeners exchange hard minerals (calcium/magnesium) for minute trace levels of sodium. It is not salty table water. However, if you prefer zero-sodium drinking water, we install a dedicated under-sink Reverse Osmosis system in tandem to provide pure drinking water.

How long does a typical installation take?

Residential water softener or basic reverse osmosis installations are typically completed within 3 to 5 hours. Commercial and complex multi-media filtration projects vary based on plumbing setup, engineering requirements, and local permitting schedules.
